Shredding of Confidential Material

FSCS requires a Service Provider to conduct confidential shredding of various mediums including paper and floppy disks.

This requirement focuses on the final stage of records retained by the scheme which periodically fall outside of our retention requirements and can be destroyed which are more than 10 years old with no recent activity and no outstanding recovery are identified for destruction.

This yearly destruction exercise enables the scheme to meet its legislative and regulatory obligations. To demonstrate appropriately that it has made sincere effort in complying with its legal responsibilities regarding care and secure management of its records, preferred suppliers should meet the following requirements:

  • Confidentiality, Security and Data Protection provisions
  • BS EN 15713:2009 - Secure Destruction of Confidential Material
  • Industry Good Practices

The destruction will commence week beginning 2 January 2012.

If interested please email procurement@fscs.org.uk and give details of the following:

  • Full company address
  • Company Registration Number
  • Copy of certification or confirmed adherence to BS EN 15713:2009.

Closing date for expressions of interest 22 November 2011.

Tender Documents will be sent to Suppliers that have passed Credit Checks and adhere to BS EN 15713:2009 from 23 November 2011.
